Insert the Backgrounds for PowerPoint® CD into your
CD-Rom drive
To browse the whole collection of backgrounds,
you can:
a. Open PowerPoint®, then choose "File",
"Open" and choose the "Browse backgrounds"
folder from the CD drive. You may then choose a presentation
to view (Images 001-099; Images 100-198 or Images 199-300).
Once you have one of the three presentations open, you
may choose to flip through the images using the slider
on the right side of the screen or choose "Slide
Show" from the menubar, then choose "View
Show" or choose "View" then "Slide
Sorter View" to view thumbnails of the images.
You may not be able to see all the details of each image,
however, if you choose to use the "Slide Sorter
View" browsing option.
b. Using Acrobat® Reader® (available
for free download at http://www.acrobat.com) Open the
Images Catalog file to view thumbnails of all 300 images
on the CD.
To insert a background image into an existing
PowerPoint® slide
a. Choose "Format",
"Background", then choose "Fill Effects"
from the drop down menu in the pop-up window. Next,
choose "Picture" from the fill effects menu
and click on "Select Picture". Choose your
Cd-rom drive as the source (generally using the "Look-in:"
drop-down menu), then choose an image from the "Background
Images" folder on the CD. Click "Ok".
Click "Ok" again. Then choose one of the
following options from the "Background Menu"
window:
1)Choose "Preview" to view the image in your
slide without closing the current menu, then choose
"Apply" or "Apply to All" or use
the drop-down menu again to
choose a different image
2)Choose "Apply"
to add the background to your current slide or
3)Choose "Apply
to All" to add the background to all the slides
in your presentation.
b. Right-click
your mouse in a blank area of your slide and choose
"Background . . ." Next, choose "Picture"
from the fill effects menu and click on "Select
Picture". Choose your Cd-rom drive as the source
(generally using the "Look-in:"
drop-down menu), then choose an image from the "Background
Images"
folder on the CD. Click "Ok". Click "Ok"
again. Then choose one of the following options from
the "Background Menu" window:
1)Choose "Preview" to view the image in your
slide without closing the current menu, then choose
"Apply" or "Apply to All" or use
the drop-down menu again to
choose a different image
2)Choose "Apply" to add the background to
your current slide or
3)Choose "Apply
to All" to add the background to all the slides
in your presentation.
